On or about 14 November 1997, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of SQUADRON OPERATION/AMU FACILITY, GRAND FORKS AFB, NORTH DAKOTA. Bids will be opened on or about 16 December 1997. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and small business participation. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact the Grand Forks Resident Engineer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, P.O. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Project consists of constructing a two-story, 40,200 SF Squadron Operations Facility. Building materials include concrete foundation, polymer exterior insulation and finish system (EFIS), steel joists, steel columns, steel decking, interior CMU load bearing walls, standing seam metal roof, casework and finish carpentry, windows and doors, overhead coiling doors, gypboard on metal studs, acoustical ceiling tile, acoustical wall panels, carpet, resilient flooring, and lockers. Prewired workstations and in place theater seating will be required under this contract. Mechanical work includes HVAC system w/DDC, gas fired boilers, gas fired hot water heater, pumps, packaged chiller, exhaust fans and venting, louvers, piping, plumbing, plumbing fixtures, and a hydraulic wet pipe fire protection system. Electrical work includes electrical panels and outlets, lighting fixtures, communications wiring (telephones and LAN systems), CATV systems, and radio and public address systems. Site work includes, gas, water, and sanitary sewer lines, electrical utilities, site lighting, concrete paving for service driveways and sidewalks, bituminous paving for service roads and parking lots, finish grading, chain link security fence and gates at entrance, and seeding. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $5,000,000 and $7,500,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 450 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. The plans and specifications are available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and will be provided free of charge. It has been determined that the number of Compact Disks be limited to one (1) per firm. Plans and Specifications will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
