U.S. Army Soldier Systems Command intends to conduct negotiations with
and award a Purchase Order, using simplified acquisition procedures,
to Ro- Search, Inc, Box 188, Waynesville, NC 28786 on a basis of other
than full and open competition. The Antipersonnel Mine Protective
Overboots, modified model WE95630-A which is fgabricated by Ro Search,
is designed to minimize leg and foot injuries caused by the detonation
of small, blast type pressure initiated antipersonnel mines. An
extensive market investigation during FY 96 did not reveal any other
items that could meet the Body Armor Set, Individual Countermine
Preplanned Product Improvement (Basic P31) statement of need,
individual clothing and equipment requirements. Ro Search has the
documented procedures and equipment to ensure compliance of the unique
