J -- MAINTENANCE SERVICE CONTRACT FOR MOORING BUOY SYSTEM FOR FLORIDA KEYS NMFS SOL NCND2220800002 DUE 120597 POC Sheila Anderson, 816-426-7267 EXT. 240 The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to purchase the following services under the authority of FAR Part 13 for the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS) in Key West, Florida. Provide all personnel, material, equipment, services, and labor necessary to perform mooring buoy maintenance for an approximate one year period. The mooring buoy system consists of 180 buoys. The following items shall be accomplished on each buoy at specified intervals: 1) Inspect all buoys, through-buoy lines, and pickup lines for condition and correct deficiencies as required, 2) Inspect down lines and shackle and anchor eye for each buoy and repair or replace as necessary, 3) replace pin in anchor-to-down line shackle, 4) Repair or replace buoys reported out of service, and 5) install new mooring buoy assemblies to anchor eves provided by FKNMS and move existing buoys to alternate locations if required. Raw materials for maintenance of the mooring buoy system will be provided by FKNMS. The contractor shall be responsible for cutting lines to proper lengths, splicing lines, assembling components, and applying numbers and decals to buoys. Tools, diving equipment, and boats shall be provided by the Contractor. A Request for Quotation will be issued on or about November 7, 1997 and will close on or about November 21, 1997. Only vendors established in the state of Florida will be considered. This requirement is 100% set aside for small business. SIC code 7699 applies.
