USAID/Jordan intends to execute a modification to contract number 278-C-00-96-90544-00 with Pathfinder International of Nine Calen St., Watertown, MA. The modification, estimated at $2,000,000 will be implemented over a 12 month period and will extend the current contract by the same period. The activities extended under the modification include expanding the comprehensive postpartum concept to seven additional centers, including training, counselling, developing research and management information systems, providing management training and institutionalizing the concept of quality of care in the centers. Upgrading of facilities and procurement of commodities will be added to the scope. USAID/Jordan intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of AIDAR 706.302- 70(b)(5). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within thirty days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
