The United States Postal Service (USPS) Is soliciting proposals from prequalified contractors to construct a new 173,400 gross square foot Processing and Distribution Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Work includes, but is not limited to, demolition, earthwork, detention pond, site utilities and site improvements, paving, landscaping and irrigation. Work also includes concrete foundations and slab-on-grade, pre-cast concrete panels, steel structure, steel joists and decking, roof membrane over roof insulation, sheet metal, metal stud partitions, insulation, gypsum board walls and ceiling, ceramic tile, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, carpeting, custom cabinets, and fixtures, carpentry, glass store front system, painting, hollow metal doors, wood doors, metal frames, door hardware, sectional overhead doors, metal fabrications, toilet partitions and accessories, signage, lockers, loading dock equipment, fire protection and detection system, security systems, electrical, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning. This is a prequalified project. Only prequalified contractors will be allowed to submit proposals on this project. A Pre-Proposal Conference will be conducted at the Holiday Inn City Centre, Embassy 1 Conference Room, 100 West 8th Street, Sioux Falls, SD, at 10 am on November 4, 1997. The Pre-Proposal Conference is open to the public. The prequalified contractors have been furnished copies of the solicitation. Additional sets of the solicitation may be purchased at a cost of $200 per set.
