Chiller, 10 ton capacity, using HFC-134A refrigerant. System shall be
self-contained, fully factory assembled upon delivery with capacity
controls. System shall be able to maintain a temperature of 44 degrees
F. Chiller needsd to be disassembled to fit in marine doors with
opening of 26" X 66" and 6" radius corners. Chiller size shall not be
any larger than 34" width X 70" depth X 53" height. All refrigerant
piping shall be braze joints. The design shall be as follows: (1)
Compressor, 10 ton capacity, HFC-134A refrigerant, 220 volts,
hermetic/semi-hermetic, 3 phase, 60 HZ, with isolators, automatic
capacity reduction of at least 2 steps, crankcase oil heater, oil and
suction strainers, discharge and suction shut off valves (1 each); (2)
Condenser, shell and tube type, HFC-134A, tubes 90-10 copper nickel,
zinc protection, for salt water use, shell seamless carbon steel with
removable bolt-on heads for maintenance. Heads to have NPT connections,
double liquid drains on bottom, 105 degree F condensing temperature and
90 degrees F sea water inlet temperature (1 each); (3) Pump, Chilled
Water, single speed, induction motor, constant 1200 RPM continuous duty
cycle, 50 degree C ambient temperature, dripproof, totally enclosed,
fancooled, Class B insulation, sealed anti-friction ball bearing or
bushing, 220 volts, 3 phase, 60 HZ, to deliver required flow at minimum
discharge pressure of 42 PSIG (1 each); Casting and Rotors shall be
bronze ANSI C90300, C92200 or C83600. Shaft key and fasteners shall be
monel or stainless steel type 316. Impellers shall be bronze ANSI
C90300 or C83600. Support or pedestal shall be cast or welded steel or
bronze. Shaft sleeves shall be Bronze ANSI C90300, C92200, or C83600.
Seals shall be mechanical with ceramic seat and carbon washers; (4)
Evaporator, water chiller, shell and tube type; HFC-134A, refrigerant
tubes Type K copper, chill water NPT inlet and outlet, seamless carbon
steel shell with bolt-on type cast steel heads; chill water inlet
temperature of 54 degrees F and outlet temperature of 44 degree F (1
each); (5) Valve, expansion, HFC-134A compatible, power head
replaceable and adjustable (1 each); (6) Valve, solenoid, liquid,
normally closed vavle and interchangeable coil, 115 VAC, 1 phase, 60
HZ, for pump down (1 each); (7) Thermostat, freeze protection,
electrical contacts, normally closed, opens temperature 34 degree F
plus or minus 1 degree F (1 each); (8) Sight Glass, replaceable
moisture indicator element, HFC-134A refrigerant, solder connection (1
each); (9) Filter, dryer, replaceable core type, HFC-134A, 10 ton (1
each); (10) Heater, oil crankcase, 115 VAC, 1 phase, 60 HZ, to
automatically de-energize upon compression start up (1 each); (11)
Gauges, suction and discharge with valves (1 each); (12) Valve, relief,
shall relieve the high pressure side to the low pressure side before
rleasing to the atmosphere (1 each); (13) Rupture disc for emergency
relief valve (1 each); (14) Valve, regulating, salt water application,
to provide correct flow thru condenser under all operating conditions,
for sea water service (1 each); (15) Valve for liquid refrigerant (1
each); (16) Strainer, compatible with HFC-134A refrigerant, 10 ton
capacity (1 each); (17) Control Panel, electrical controls for
independent Water Chiller Systems clearly labeled. Controls and
components shall be marine type, rated for 50 degree C ambient
temperature. Mercury switches will not be acceptable. Size of panel
shall be 16" width X 8" depth X 26" height or smaller. Wires shall be
tagged and banded. The design shall be as follows: (1) Safety
Interlock/Compressor-Condenser water flow swtich; (b) Safety
interlock/Compressor-Chilled water circulating pump running; (c) Safety
interlock/compressor-condenser water circulating pump running; (d)
Safety high and low pressure controls; (18) Motor Controller, for
chilled water pump, AC magnetic across the line, full voltage,
nonreversing, 220 volts, 3 phase, 60 HZ, rated for 50 degree C ambient
temperature; start/stop push buttons, green indicating light for pump
running, white indicating light for power available, two auxiliary
contact normally open and two normally closed, control voltage 115 VAC.
Controller shall meet the requirements of IEEE-STD-45-1983 (1 each);
and (19) Motor Controller, for Compressor, AC magnetic across the line
full voltage, non reversing, 220 volts, 3 phase, 60 HZ, selector
switch for manual-off-automatic operation, rated for 50 degree C
ambient temperature, green indicating light for compressor running,
white indicator light for power available, and amber indicating light
for compressor crankcase heater "on", two auxiliary contacts normally
open and two normally closed wired to terminal block for connection to
other components, control voltage 115 VAC, shall meet the requirements
of IEEE-STD-45-1983 (1 each). Quantity six (6) each. Contractor shall
also be required to submit Engineering and Assembly Drawings; Piping,
electrical, and schematic diagrams; and technical manuals. Delivery
shall be F.O.B. Destination to the Coast Guard Engineering Logistics
Center, 2401 Hawkins Point Road, Baltimore, MD 21226-5000. Delivery to
be approximately thirty (30) days after the date of contract award.
Partial deliveries will be acceptable. It is intended to award a
firm-fixed price contract. When calling for a solicitation package, be
prepared to state your name, address, and solicitation number.
