Specifications for Valve Procurement of ELECTRO/PNEUMATIC ACTUATED, METAL, SEATED, BALL VALVES. A. SCOPE OF WORK. This statement of work covers the design, manufacturing, material selection, delivery and inspection of normal service ball valves to be used in the FETC Hot Gas Desulfurization Process Development Unit (HGDPDU)/Synthetic Gas Generator (SGG) Analytical System. General requirements are the same for all valves. Specific requirements are unique for each of the two groups of valves. B. CODES, STANDARDS, AND LAWS. The most recent versions of the following codes and standards are applicable to the specifications: ANSI/FCI 70-2 Control Valve Seat Leakage. ANSI B16.34 Valves -- Flanged, Threaded, and Welding End. ANSI B31.3 Chemical Plant and Petroleum Refinery Piping. NEC National Electric Code. Fastener Quality Act (Public Law 101-592 [H.R. 3000]; November 16, 1990). C. DELIVERABLES. C.1 The following components shall be the minimum equipment furnished per valve: * Valve labeled on the body according to ANSI B16.34. * Valve actuators with appropriate fail safe hardware. Actuators shall be installed on the valves. * Limit switches and solenoid pilot valves, installed on actuators. * Certification of Material Test Reports for all pressure holding materials. * Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) or Mean Cycles To Failure for each valve in its respective service and data to substantiate MTTF claims. C.2 The manufacturer shall furnish, upon award of the contract, the following: * Detailed instructions for operation, installation, assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of the valves and actuators. * Detailed instructions for operation, installation, assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of the valves and actuators. D. VALVE SPECIFICATIONS. D.1 Valve Body Size and Type: ANSI B16.34 ball valve, fully rated as per Section E. D.2 Valve Trim Size and Type: Full port, two-way ball. D.3 Differential Pressure for Cycling Valve: Maximum shall be as high as ANSI Class rated pressure listed in Section E. D.4 Actuator: Shall be pneumatically actuated and spring to a fail safe mode upon loss of air. Fail safe action shall be field reversible. Supply pressure is 100 psig. If other supply pressures are required, the vendor shall furnish an appropriate regulator. D.5 End Connections: As Specified in Section E. D.6 Valve Body Material: As specified in Section E or equivalent to meet process conditions. D.7 Valve Seat: 316 stainless steel or equivalent to meet process conditions. D.8 Ball: 316 stainless steel or equivalent to meet process conditions. D.9 Seats and Sealing: Shall be spring loaded. Valve shall achieve an ANSI Class VI shutoff in both directions. D.10 Limit Switches: Double pole, double throw switches (120-volt, single- phase) for open and closed position with two sets of contacts at each position. Contacts to have minimum rating of 10 amps in a NEMA 7 housing or equal. Limit switches must be mounted on the valve by the vendor. D.11 Solenoid Valves: Requiring a 120 volt AC control signal and 100 psig supply air source. Solenoid pilot valve will be mounted on the valve by the vendor. If a regulator is needed to reduce 100 psig supply air to that required by the vendors valve, it shall be provided and installed on the valve by the vendor. E.
