Contract Specialist, (404) 842-6738 The Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease
Registry (ATSDR) located in Atlanta, Georgia are planning to recompete
the operation of the Occupational Health Service, Lifestyle Services
and Employee Assistance Program Services in the near future. This
notice is to perform market research to determine availability of new
and innovative approaches in the performance of these services.
Currently the Occupation Health Services Contract services a Main
Health Unit at the Clifton Road facility and an Auxiliary Health Unit
at the Chamblee facility. The Main Health Unit responded to
approximately 8500 visits during FY96 (10/1/95-9/30/96) and the
Auxiliary Health Unit responded to approximately 2000 visits during
FY96. Services provided include: Comprehensive occupational medical
services to employees, visitors, and guest workers at CDC/ATSDR to
include training, immunizations, blood tests and on-the-job injuries;
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with a caseload of 825 during FY96;
staffing of the Lifestyle Fitness Center at the Clifton Road facility
from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday as well as a worksite
health promotion program which included approximately 1000 participants
during FY96. At a minimum the new contract must provide emergency
medical care; pre-employment and in- service examinations; screening
programs and medical surveillance; an immunization program; and health
education services. The contract period will include a 12-month base
period with four 1-year renewal option periods. Additional information
will be provided at a pre-solicitation conference to be held at the
CDC Clifton Road Facility on November 18, 1997 at 8:30 a.m. in Building
1, Room 207. All interested participants should contact Wanda Allison

order to insure space is available for all interested participants,
reservations must be made by close of business on November 10, 1997. A
competitive procurement resulting from information will be advertised
in the near future under the same solicitation number. SIC code for
this procurement is 8011 with a small business size standard of not
more than $5 million in receipts for the three preceeding fiscal years.
