NASA/LeRC plans to issue an (IFB) Invitation for Bid for providing the labor, equipment, and materials to rehabilitate LeRC Basic Materials Laboratory, Building 106. Project involves replacing the existing two (2) pipe fan coil units and controls in the perimeter office rings with new four (4) pipe ceiling mount units and individual room controls. With the new fan coil units will be new ceilings with new lighting in the offices. A new wet pipe sprinker system shall be installed for the first and second floors. Work includes demolition of existing fan coil units and associated mechanical and electrical conduit and piping; demolition of office ceilings and lighting; demolition of existing hot water system. Option 1 -- Provide labor, equipment, and materials for installation of back basement air handler, ceilings and lighting, and basement sprinkler system. Work includes demolition of existing back basement air handler unit and demolition of back basement ceilings and lighting. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $999,999 and the effort shall be completed within 365 calendar days after notice to proceed. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1711 and $7.0M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about November 15, 1997 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about December 15, 1997. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB/RFO.
