Estimated cost is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Completion no later than 395 calendar days. Construction consists of modifying the first floor of Building 41 to accommodate the Nurse Education Training Center. Work will include demolition of interior partitions and finishes, installation of steel tubes and columns beneath the first floor slab, sound attenuation insulation, sand and refinish existing wood flooring, VCT floor finish in corridor areas, vinyl composition tile in support areas, sheet vinyl flooring in lab, ceramic tile floor and wall finish for toilet room areas, vinyl wall base and painted gypsum wallboard framed with metal studs, replace one exterior window, suspended acoustical ceiling tile, gypsum wallboard ceilings for corridor areas, repair/replace damaged woodwork, repair damaged plaster work with gypsum wallboard, relocate existing ductwork, plumbing, conduit and fire protection items, HVAC upgrade, provision for the handicapped, installation of carpet. The project will involve the removal of vinyl asbestos floor tile and lead paint abatement. Fitout of the area will include new fire extinguishers, pull station, horn and strobe locations, exit signage and sprinkler head locations. No exterior work is involved.
