of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection (APHIS),
International Services (IS) and Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ)
has a requirement for nonviable, dried torula yeast, incapable of
growth, at facilities that rear Mediterranean Fruit Flies (Medfly) and
Mexican Fruit Flies (MFF), in Texas, Hawaii, Mexico and Guatemala.
Nonviable, dried torula yeast is used in the insect diet for the mass
rearing of Medfly and MFF. Award is limited to approved companies on
the APHIS' Qualified Manufacturer's list (QML). A firm, fixed-price,
requirements contract will be awarded and effective from date of award
through September 30, 1998. The contract will contain a renewal option
to extend the term of the contract through September 30, 1999. The
quantities estimated for the base and option periods of the contract
are as follows: 100,000 pounds, MFF, Edinburgh, Texas; 560,000 pounds,
Medfly, Tapachula, Mexico; 200,000 pounds, Medfly, El Pino, Guatemala;
and, 160,000 pounds, Medfly, Waimanalo, Hawaii. All deliveries shall be
f.o.b. destination. Mexico and Guatemala shall be delivered to
Brownsville, Texas. This acquisition is unrestricted. All responsive
