for Indefinite Quantity Contract for Architect/Engineer Services (IQC
A/E Services) for the design and preparation of contract documents with
options for contract administration and inspection services for repair
and/or alteration of postal facilities within the Greensboro NC
District Area. New construction designs will not be completed under
this contract. Said area includes the counties of Alamance, Alexander,
Ashe, Avery, Beaufort, Bertie, Burke, Caldwell, Camden, Caswell,
Catawba, Chatham, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Davidson, Davie, Durham,
Edgecombe, Forsythe, Franklin, Gates, Granville, Greene, Guilford,
Halifax, Harnett, Hertford, Hyde, Iredell, Johnston, Lee, Martin,
McDowell, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, Northampton, Orange, Pasquotank,
Perquimans, Person, Pitt, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Tyrrell,
Vance, Wake, Warren, Washington, Watauga, Wayne, Wilkes, Wilson, and
Yadkin. The base term of the contract will be for one year with four
one-year renewal options. Individual work orders will be negotiated for
each project. Individual work orders cannot exceed $100,000. The total
amount of work that may be issued per 12-month period is $500,000. The
total amount of work ordered over the 5-year period cannot exceed
$2,500,000. Firms that have the qualifications to perform the services
described are invited to submit a completed SF-255,
"Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific
Project," and a completed SF-254, "Architect-Engineer and Related
Services Questionnaire." Also submit a completed SF-254 for each
proposed consultant. All submittals are to be postmarked no later than
December 10, 1997. Interested firms with more than one office must
indicate on their SF-255 the staffing composition of the office in
which the work will be performed. Consideration will be given to firms
responding to this advertisement in accordance with the instructions
in the following order of preference: (1) firms located within 25 miles
of the City of Greensboro; (2) firms located within 50 miles of the
City of Greensboro; and (3) firms located within the State of North
Carolina. Architectural and engineering firms will be considered as
local only if their sole office is located within 25 miles of the City
of Greensboro or they have a local branch office and all of the
architectural design, coordination, and management of the project will
be performed in that office. There is no restriction for the
geographical location of consultants. The minimum acceptable architect
and engineering complement of the prime firm and consultant is two
architects, one electrical engineer, one mechanical engineer, one
structural engineer and one civil engineer. The contract contains a
requirement for firms to provide evidence of current insurance in the
amount of not less than $200,000 of errors and omissions per claim. At
the discretion of the USPS Contracting Officer, multiple awards may be
awarded. It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage, or
brokerage fee to any person or firm contingent upon or resulting from
award of a contract for the project. No other notification of this
project will be made. Submissions will not be retained or returned.
