Brown, 413-582-3093 Project 631-98-101 Fire Safety III, Work consists of all design work for general construction work to correct Life Safety Code Deficienies in VAMC Buildings and in the VA small group home. Work includes replacement of smoke and fire doors; miscellaneous sprinkler modifications, replacement wall finishes, etc. Work is to be designed by a Professional Fire Protection Engineer. A Professional Industrial Hygienist is required to be part of the design construction and to be produce project specifications if required. All asbestos testing shall be performed by a AIHA certified lab. Estimated Construction Cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. Project 631-98-102, Replace Fire Alarm System. Work consists of all design work to replace the entire fire alarm system at the VA Medical Center both interior and exterior including related components. Work is to be designed by a professional Fire Protection Engineer. A Professional Industrial is required to be part of the design team to access the impact of asbestos witin the areas of proposed construction and to be produce project specifications if required. All asbestos testing shall be performed by a AIHA certified lab. Estimated Construcion Cost is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Both projects will be awarded to the same firm to assure that all related components are readily compatible. Both jobs are anticipated to be bid under one bid package. Therefore only one set of 254's and 255's will be required. Please indicate that the area of consideration should be from New York, Conn, RI, MA, VY, NH, and ME.
