R-This requirement is for engineering services for the development, testing and validation of acoustic sensor performance and the formulation, analysis, development and evaluation of advanced signal processing techniques for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare systems. An example of the type of services to be provided include: engineering and technical support for reconnaissance equipment to ensure proper mechanical, optical and electronic operation; collection, analysis and verification of acoustic data from laboratory and at-sea field tests; and technical support in the planning, conduct and analysis of testing and integration of new sensors and processing techniques. The contract type is anticipated to be a cost plus fixed fee with an estimated level of effort of 423,900 man-hours for a total of five years. The period of performance is for a base year commencing on 1 October 1998 plus four one-year options. This requirement is a follow-on to N00140-94-C-1308 and the incumbent is Pacer Systems, Inc.
