A. Smith, (202)622-0803 The Department of the Treasury, Departmental
Offices, Procurement Services Division, is issueing a combination
synopsis/soliciation for the lease of seventy-three (73) alpha numeric
nationwide pagers (commercial item) prepared in accordance with the
format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation
will not be issued. The solicitation is issued as a Request for
Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation number is RFQ-98-8054. The
solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those
in effect through Federal Acquisition Rewrite 6/97. This procurement is
100% set-aside for small business. The standard industrial
classification code is 3663. The solicitation is for the lease of
seventy-three (73) alpha numeric nationwide pagers. The contractor
shall provide twenty-four (24) hour air time for all pagers. Each pager
shall have nationwide coverageas well as alpha numeric capabilities.
Each pager shall have at a minimum, a variety of alert signals such as
standard beeps, silent vibration, and a flashing light indicator. Each
pager shall have the ability that duplicate messages should not take up
memory space. A dedicated operator shall be set up for the
seventy-three (73) OIG pager users only. The contractor shall specify
the monthly cost for unlimited pages as well as the monthly cost for
insurance for the replacement of lost, stolen, damaged or broken
pagers. The contractor shall have the capability to bill monthly,
quarterly or annually. The proposed contract will consist of one (1)
twelve month base period and two (2) twelve month option periods. The
proposed contractor shall submit a quote for the base period and the
two option periods. Renewal will exercised at the discretion of the
Department of the Treasury. The selected contractor shall be located
within the Metropolitan Area (Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia). The
seventy-three pagers must be delivered and activated on or about
November 25, 1997. The pagers will be shipped to Department of the
Treasury, Office of Inspector General, Attn: Timonth Lewis, 740 15th
Street, N.W., Room 510, Washington, D.C. 20220. The quotation will be
evaluated on the basis of price and other factors, i.e. technical
capability, past performance, quality. Contractors must submit three
(3) references, model/item number and product brouchure which includes
specifications of alpha numeric nationwide pagers being quoted. The
provision at 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items,
52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial
Items, and 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items
applies to this acquisition. Quotations are due November 21, 1997 by
3:00pm. Written quotes should be mailed to Department of the Treasury,
Procurement Services Division, 15th & Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Room
