The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Western Pacific Region, under the FAA Acquisition Management System (FAAAMS) hereby publicly announces its intention to contract for a state-of-the-art Terminal Radar Video Switch System (TRVSS) to be delivered to and installed in the FAA's Southern California TRACON (SCT), San Diego, California. The purpose of the switching, device is to distribute primary radar and secondary radar analog video inputs from seven (7) Airport Surveillance Radar systems with the capability to drive sixty (60) TRACON displays. Ideally, any one of SCT's remoted radar's should be selective at any one of the displays. The performance specification is for the purchase of a TRVSS to meet this SCT radar analog video switching requirement. The FAA further requires that the design proposed by the contractor include provision for future expansion of the TRVSS, using same equipment as described in detail within the specification, to distribute primary radar and secondary radar analog inputs from up to three (3) more Airport Surveillance Radar systems that are yet to be determined. A single vendor will furnish, install and implement the (TRVSS) at SCT. Solicitations will be sent to the first twenty (20) firms requesting solicitations as a result of this announcement. The deadline to request a solicitation is no later than November 24, 1997. Requests must be submitted via US Mail or via fax at (310) 536-8551. No telephone requests will be accepted. A mandatory pre-proposal conference and site visit is scheduled for December 5, 1997~. Proposals will be accepted only from those offerors who attend the pre-proposal conference and site visit.
