66 -- LOW FREQUENCY HEMISPHERICAL NEAR-FIELD ANTENNA RANGER SOL RFP-7134 POC Bernice T. Evans, (202) 324-8810, Fax (202) 324-0570 The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) requires the development of a Low Frequency Hemispherical Near-Field Antenna Range for its Engineering Research Facility located in Quantico, Virginia, to conduct a variety of antenna measurements. The objects to be tested may weigh up to 8000 pounds and measure up to 20 feet in length. The "source" antenna shall be incrementally positioned in an arc while an azimuth turntable rotates the test object through 360 degrees. The required operational frequency range is 0.15 to 3.0 gigahertz with a design goal of 0.1 to 5.0 gigahertz. This requirement also includes a top running electric overhead traveling crane. The overall effort will be divided into two principal phases. The first phase will be concerned with the actual design, while the second phase will implement that design. Al l components and workmanship provided under the specification shall be warranted to be free from defects for one year beginning at the day of acceptance. The successfull contractor and all personnel working on the project shall undergo a security background check; the scope of which will be determined by the FBI. The successful contractor shall comply with all security requirements stated in the solicitation/contract. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated as a result of this solicitation, with CONTRACT AWARD CONTINGENT UPON THE AVAILABILITY OF APPROPRIATED FUNDS. Request for RFP-7134 shall be received in writing by the above-stated POC within 15 calendar days from the date of this announcement.
