This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subparts 12.6 and 13.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION TO BE ISSUED; quotes are being requested and NO FURTHER WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. The solicitation number for this Request for Quote is N00244-98-Q-E1S8 and closes on 10/17/97, 4:00 p.m. pacific time. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 46. This requirement is 100% setaside for small business. All items are in accordance with statement of work. Item 0001, Lease of 6000 gal. cap. diesel engine liquid nitrogen tanker, QTY 8 each. Item 0002, Lease of 65 gal. cap. liquid nitrogen tanker, QTY 8 ea. Item 0003, Lease of 60 liter dewar tanks with self-pressurizing relief valves, QTY 6 ea. Item 0004, Liquid nitrogen, QTY 100,000 gallons. Period of performance is contract award date through 9/30/98; With one (1) option year. STATEMENT OF WORK This requirement is for the lease of equipment and purchase of liquid nitrogen as follows: a. Equipment leasing requirements are: (1) One 6,000 gallon diesel engine self-contained tanker for liquid nitrogen (No dockside utilities available to the tanker). (2) Two 650 gallon liquid nitrogen tanks. The tanks must be certified weight tested for lifting by crane to a dry docked submarine (Government forces will operate the crane and transfer the tanks). (3) Six 60 liter dewar tanks with self-pressurizing relief valves. The tanks must be certified weight tested for lifting by crane to a dry docked submarine (Government forces will operate the crane and transfer the tanks). (4) If any leased equipment becomes inoperable, the Contractor shall return the equipment to operational condition or replace it within twelve hours notification by the USS MCKEE. b. Liquid Nitrogen: (1) Contractor shall deliver liquid nitrogen to the leased 6,000 gallon tanker within twenty four hours of placement of oral order including weekends and holidays. Deliveries shall be coordinated with USS MCKEE at the time of the order. (2) Place of delivery for liquid nitrogen shall be stated in individual delivery orders.
