National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking firms who are capable
of providing comprehensive radiation safety surveys of selected
(approximately 3200) NIH laboratories, storage areas, and adjacent
corridors; resurvey selected areas to ensure that non-compliant items
have been corrected; perform on-site field calibrations and inspections
of survey meters equipped with Geiger-Muller (GM) tubes, NaI crystals,
or ZnS probes used for radioactive contamination monitoring: perform
calibrations (on-site and off-site) of instruments used for measuring
exposure or dose equivalent rates; repair (and recalibrate) survey
meters used for contamination monitoring; deploy and collect
environmental and effluent samples and dosimeters and prepare them for
laboratory analysis; prepare for analysis various swipes/samples
generated by the Radiation Safety Branch; manage the Building 21 hot
lab facility; check security of radioactive materials; monitor and
decontaminate personnel and areas; prepare and decontaminate I-131
therapy rooms. This acquisition is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The
SIC is 8734 at $5.0M. The requirement is for a base year of 12 months
with 4, 1 year options. A preproposal conference will be held
