Security Administration is interested in receiving quotes for the
services of a qualified contractor to (1) Provide the necessary
supervision, labor, equipment, materials, etc to install Dual
Synchronization Modules (DSMs) into the existing Notifier fire alarm
indicating circuits. Existing equipment is Radionics 503S horn/strobe
units (Wheelock AS-241575-VFR). At the conclusion of the work, all
horn/strobes and horns shall sound an audible temporal code 3 pattern
and the strobes of the horn/strobes shall be synchronized to flash in
unison. The equipment to be furnished are Horns-Wheelock AH-24WP-R horn
only units for the exterior roof location (55 each); backboxes-
Wheelock WBB Backboxes Weatherproof for exterior applications (55
each); DSM Units-Wheelock DSM-12/24-R (142 each), and Cabinets-
Notifier D-CAB-(1 each), Notifier A-CAB-(32 each) (2) Provide
"as-built" drawings of the Operations Building fire alarm system to
encompass drawings which integrates the old work with the new work.
Drawings shall be delivered on 24"x36" paper and electronically in
AUTOCAD (minimum version 12). (3) Once the Government inspects and
accepts the drawings, the Contractor shall be required to provide and
install 20 isolation modules. (4) Provide and install additional
isolation modules (not to exceed 40) on an as needed basis. All work
shall be performed at the Social Security Administration Headquarters
Buildings, Baltimore, Maryland. The acquisition will be subject to Part
12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) regarding the
acquisition of Commercial Items, to FAR Part 13.6 regarding the
Application of Special Simplified Procedures to Commercial Items and
Services, and to the principles of past performance evaluation as
covered by FAR 15.605. The Government will evaluate quotes for the"best
value" based on price, experience, and past performance. The
acquisition will also be subject to the conditions of the Service
Contract Act. Solicitation No. SSA-RFQ-98-3433 will be available on or
about November 7,1997. The RFQ will be available for download in
electronic form on SSA's Internet Home Past at URL
"http://www.ssa.gov/oag/oag1.htm. Interested parties may also receive
the RFQ by mail if unable to download from the internet. Requests for
the RFQ may be sent via telefax on (410) 966-9310. No telephone
requests will be honored. Notice is given that the RFQ cover page, SF
1449 Solicitation/Contract/Order for Commercial Items, DSM drawings and
the Wage Determination will not be available by electronic download.
