(WLIC-75309) and 68 FOOT BARGE including but not limited to the
following minimum items: (1) Renew barge deck plating and framing and
preserve barge deck, (2) Renew barge towing knees and 10" buttons, (3)
Preserve barge spuds, spud wells and renew spud well liners, (4) Port
Shaft, (5) Starboard shaft, (6) Propeller removal & reinstallation
(starboard), (7) Propeller removal and reinstallation (port), (8) Clean
and test grid coolers, (9) Install fathometer transducers on barge and
preserve transducer hull rings on tender, (10) Renew barge natural
vent ducts and plugs, (11) Renew test valves (tender), (12) Blast
Diesel Fuel Tanks, 1377 -- Gallon Tank and 2529 -- Gallon Tank, (13)
Inspect and test air receivers and relief valves, (14) Remove, inspect
and reinstall rudder assemblies, (15) Overhaul spud air winches, (16)
Overhaul tender capstan assembly, (17) Modify boom cradle/ hammer
stand, (18) Fabricate and install new sewage tank and overhaul sewage
pump, (19) Renew urinal drain piping, (20) Inspect and test deck
fitting and chain stopper, tender, (21) Barge deck fittings and chain
stopper, (22) Preserve barge deck, (23) Clean fuel tank (Barge), (24)

or less). Vessel is a "D" Class Inland Construction Tender. Vessel
length is 75 feet. Width is 22 feet. Vessel homepier is Galveston, TX.
Vessel availability schedule is on or about February 16, 1998.
Performance period is scheduled for 42 calendar days. Vessel is
restricted. No open water transits. Vessel is restricted from
Brownsville, TX to Carrabelle, FL via Intra Coastal Waterway. There
will be a non-refundable charge of $100.00 in the form of a certified
check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested
drawings. Orders must be placed within ten (10) days of solicitation
issuance. The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or after 24 Nov 1997 from our office
location, Commander (vpl-1), Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic,
300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Based upon
market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in
Part 12-Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the
described supplies or services. However, interested persons may
identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to
satisfy the Government's requirement, with a commercial item within 15
days of this notice. This notice is for informational purposes for
Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The
Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged
