Davy, 606-253-8892 This is a solicitation notice for an upcoming project to repair existing roof at Federal Correctional Institution, Memphis, Tennessee. The estimated price range is $100,000.00 to $250,000.00. The tentative date for issuance of the invitation for bids is December 2, 1997, with a tentative bid due date of January 7, 1998. The construction completion time is 360 calender days with an anticipated notice to proceed date of February 2, 1998. Requests for the invitation for bids should be received by November 26, 1997. This is 100% set aside for small business. The work shall include but not be limited to: supplying all labor and materials needed to replace approximately 36,000 square feet of existing roof. The new system shall be a hot applied, 3 ply built up, aluminized roof. Proper removal of existing gravel ballast, insulation, roofing material, and skylights is required. Making all necessary repairs to flashing, curbs, edges and miscellaneous systems to have a proper installation is also required. All work is to be completed in accordance with the standards specified in the statement of work. The contractor is required to have at least three years of experience in the roofing business, and utilize products of a manufacturer with at least three years of roof supply business. The work will be completed inside the confines of a federal prison, and security issues will be addressed and followed. The contractor will be briefed on security issues and regulations.
