Grand Coulee WA has a requirement for 46 power supplies for the
emergency lighting systems in the Third Powerplant. These units will be
purchased a few at a time over a 2-year period and installed by Govt.
personnel. The units are to have rating of 120AV single phase 60 hertz
input voltage and supply power for 90 minutes upon brownout or failure
of power. The storage batteries shall be low maintenance nickel cadium
(NOT lead acid). The units are used to power various combinations of
incandescent and fluorescent ballasted lamps having a power factor
ranging from .75 lag to .9 lead up to the rated capacity. Entire system
must be UL listed per UL 924 and be enclosed in free-standing 14 gauge
NEMA 1 cabinets with locks. One brandname that appears to meet our
needs is the Emergi-Lite Sigmalux II A.C. Power System. Interested
