The USAF Test Pilot School (TPS) has a requirement for aircraft spin evaluations in two aircraft. Both aircraft must have the following characteristics: fighter class trainer, inverted spin capable, and roll-coupled spin capable. Sessions are anticipated for February and August of each year, each containing an estimated 30-40 sorties. Each session will support a USAF TPS class and will be conducted at Edwards AFB CA. The contractor shall provide a safety, instructor pilot per aircraft and a qualified ground crew for maintaining both aircraft. The contractor shall also provide ground training. The contractor shall also provide sorties and instructors to certify/update currencies for TPS instructor pilots. The contract will be for a basic period of 9 months with 4 one-year options. As part of award selection, an Edwards AFB team will visit contractor facilities to review pilot certifications, aircraft documentation, and flight operations in order to evaluate suitability. Also, an inflight demonstration of spin characteristics with a contractor safety, instructor pilot, might be necessary for aircraft unfamiliar to TPS pilots.
