NASA/KSC plans to issue a IFB/ Request for Offers for construction to Restore Visual Landing Aid System which consists of providing the labor, equipment and materials to replace or update the existing VLA system. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $250,000 and $500,000 and the effort shall be completed within 292 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1731 and $7.0 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB/RFO is on or about 11/26/97 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 1/5/98. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB/RFO. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office 407-867-2851. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. [OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED] An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
