Marine Corps Systems Command intends to modify a series of related R&D
contracts made against Broad Agency Announcement M67854-97-R-2061. The
intended actions encompass adding options for up to 14 additional
Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR)/Laser Range Finder Payloads under
contract M67854-97-C-2141 with Inframetrics Inc., North Billerica, MA;
up to 50 engines modified for heavy fuel under contract
M67854-97-C-2139 with Sonex Research Inc., Annapolis, MD; up to 50
video transmitters, 50 transmit antennas, 20 receive antennas, and 10
auto-tracking antennas under Contract M67854-97-C-2173 with AeroComm,
Inc., Germantown, MD; and up to 50 Drone parafoils under Contract
M67854-97-C-2162 with Aerobotics Corp., Goucester, VA. The options will
be for additional prototypes required for an operational experiment
scheduled for Spring 1998 and must be 100% compatible with all other
items purchased for the experiment. The drone system for operational
experimentation shall be shipboard compatible (Heavy fuel engines),
shall allow operation 100 miles forward of the ship (improved
transmitters and antennas), shall allow for night operation (FLIR
payloads), and shall allow the drone to be used for targeting (coupling
day and FLIR payloads with laser range finders). For beneficial
analysis of the experimental data collected, a single hardware baseline
is required. The Marine Corps intends to award sole source
modifications for the requirements listed above and no solicitation
