Notice is hereby given that the National Park Service proposes to award a concession contract authorizing the continued operation of guided cross country ski tours within Grand Teton National Park. The permits will be for a period of four and one half (4 1/2) years from January 1, 1998 through June 30, 2002. A THIRTY FIVE (35) day period to respond to the prospectus begins on the date of publication of this notice. The prospectus describing the concessions operations and requirements of the concessions is available on request from Grand Teton National Park, Concessions Division. The prospectus includes a copy of the permits and their provisions. The current concessioners have performed their obligations to the satisfaction of the Secretary of Interior under the existing permits which expire on December 31, 1997. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5 of the Act of October 9, 1965 (16 USC 20d), the current concessioners are entitled to a right of preference in the award of a new contract provided the concessioners submit a responsive offer (an offer received within the response period which meet the terms and conditions of the prospectus). If the best offer is submitted by a party other than the current concessioners, the current concessioners will be afforded the opportunity to match the best offer. If the current concessioners agrees to match the best offer, the contract must be awarded to the current concessioners. If the current concessioners does not submit a responsive offer, the right of preference in renewal shall be considered to have been waived, and the contract will be awarded to the party which has submitted the best responsive offer. The Secretary of Interior will consider and evaluate only those offers received within the thirty five (35) day response period. Any offer, including that of the current concessioners, must be received by the Superintendent, Grand Teton National Park, P.O. Box 170, Moose, Wyoming 83012 no later than thirty five (35) days from the day this notice is published. (0309)
