Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate a modification for additional supplies and services under the fiscal year 1997 Harpoon Weapon System production contract with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166. The modification will include approximately twenty missiles and shipping containers, integrated logistics support and depot support equipment engineering services. McDonnell Douglas is the sole developer, designer and manufacturer of the Harpoon Weapon System and the only known firm with the necessary knowledge, data, equipment, facilities and experience to perform this effort within the required timeframe.
