soliciting information for potential sources for Logistics Management
Services. The anticipated contract type is firm-fixed price, indefinite
quantity. Work to be performed under this contract will be on-site at
the Ames Research Center, Moffett Federal Air Field, California, under
direction of the Facilities and Logistics Management Division. Actual
tasks will be initiated through Contract Task Orders or Contract Work
Authorizations. The anticipated period of performance is five (5)
years with a two (2) year base period and three (3) one year options.
The contract will cover supply and warehouse management, property
disposal, personal property management, industrial property and both
freight and vehicular transportation services. Functions will be cover
a variety of Center wide reserch and development organizations. ARC
anticipates release of a draft Request for Proposal (RFP) in mid to
late November, 1997. The draft RFP is being issued to allow prospective
offerors an opportunity to begin proposal preparation. It is a
solicitation for information or planning purposes as contemplated by
paragraph 15.405 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and is
being released for review, suggestions, recommendations, and/or
questions only. The final RFP is anticipated to be released on or about
January 15, 1998 with proposals due by mid-March, 1998. A pre-proposal
conference is planned during the month of February. Selection will be
made in early June, 1998. A contract award is anticipated by the end
of June, 1998. The successful offeror will provide all management,
personnel, tools, equipment replacement parts and materials to perform
these services. The standard industrial classification (SIC) code is
8744, and a size standard of $20 million in annual sales. Interested

solicitation is released it will be synopsized in the CBD and on the
NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors
responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any
solicitation or synopsis. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to
meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit
appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references.
Interested offerors/vendors having the required specialized
capabilities to meet the above requirement should submit a capability
statement of 5 pages or less indicating the ability to perform all
aspects of the effort described herein. Responses must include the
following: name and address of firm, size of business; average annual
revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether
they are large, small, small disadvantaged 8 (a), and or woman owned;
number of years in business; affiliate information: parent company,
joint venture partners, potential teaming partners, prime contractor
(if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potential prime); list of
customers covering the past five years (highlight relevant work
performed, contract numbers, contract type, dollar value of each
procurement; and point of contact -- address and phone number).

Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation.
Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant
solicitation for the requirement. The Government reserves the right to
consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based on responses hereto.
