The FAA intends to solicit proposals and award a contract for modifications to the existing control wing basement & critical power system at the Minneapolis ARTCC, Farmington, MN. A Screening Information Request (SIR) will be issued on or around 11/18/97, to contractors who have not previously completed a SIR to perform work at the Minneapolis ARTCC. The contract will have a performance time of 60 calendar days, with an anticipated start date of 3/3/98. The estimated procurement is between $250,000 and $400,000. SIC is 1542. The FAA is seeking contractors that have performed total management of, & have also completed with their own workforces or subcontractors, the following: demolition of air handling unit & ductwork; removal & proper disposal of hazardous materials; raised floor systems; install critical power including conduit, conductors, transfer switches, panels; & miscellaneous civil & electrical work in critical facilities such as air traffic control facilities, hospitals, computer rooms, & airport/military facilities. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned & Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DoT), Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned, & disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working capital & bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assitance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance & payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DoT provides for 80% guaranty on the bond amount to surety against loses. Loans are also available under the DoT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
