There are 40 stoplog slots located in the downstream end of the powerhouse tailrace deck area that contain concrete stoplogs that have no rubber seals. Each slot contains 8 stoplogs for a total of 320 existing stoplogs that do not have rubber seals. All 320 stoplogs must be removed, rubber seals installed on the ends of the stoplogs, and the stoplogs replaced in the slots. The existing stoplogs are held tight in the slots with wood wedges which must be removed before stoplogs can be lifted out of the slots. Underwater diving work will be required. The fish collection channel is out of operation during January and February every year which is the only time period when stoplogs can be out of the slots. Removal of the stoplogs and installation of rubber seals will be performed during January and February 1998 and 1999. Estimated cost is between $250,000 and $500,000.
