NASA/JSC plans to enter into a fixed price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) for tasks related to the integration of MULTI-USE REMOTE MANIPULATOR DEVELOPMENT FACILITY (MRMDF). Activities include systems level failure effects and hazard analysis for the MRMDF arm and the related electronics; development of an MRMDF maintenance manual; peformance of multi-joint integration; force moment sensor integration; and the integration of the MRMDF with NASA provided subsystems in order to bring on-line the MRMDF as an operational training facility. NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from the developer of the arm, the Boeing Company/McDonnell Douglas Corporation based on the authority of Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition Pursuant to 10.U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), dated 11/7/97. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. See Note 22. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See Internet Note "B".
