The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has a requirement to extend existing Contract DAAB07-92-Z-B506 for equipment maintenance, repair, modification and logistics support, for an additional two and potentially six months to cover services while a follow-on contract is being solicited and awarded. It is the Goverment's intention to issue a modification to the current contract for this purpose. It is not feasible to obtain competition for this acquisition since a new contractor would require at least a 90 day transition period, start-up costs, individual employee security clearances, transfer of Government property and the many other factors involved in starting an effort of this magnitude.
