On or about 25 November 1997, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of REHABILITATION OF FEDERAL STREAMBANK STABILIZATION, BUFORD TRENTON IRRIGATION DISTRICT, MISSOURI RIVER, MILE 1581.5 TO 1582, NORTH DAKOTA. Bids will be opened on or about 30 December 1997. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and small business participation. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Black Hills Area Office, Rapid City, South Dakota, Telephone (605)341-3169. The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Project consists of stabilizing a section of bankline 20 miles southwest of Williston, North Dakota, along the right bank of the Missouri River. Work includes placement of 3 bendway weirs (19,000 tons of stone). In addition to the right bank work, a single section along the left bank of Missouri River will be stabilized by placement of a refusal (800 tons of stone). The estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $1,500,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing and no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to one (1) per firm.
