industry of an impending requirement for the design, development,
testing, and manufacture of supplies for upgrading and/or replacing
existing Navy towed systems. These towed systems interface with various
shipboard sonar and combat systems on various classes of US Navy
submarines, surface ships, and surveillance ships. The "towed systems"
include sensor arrays, towed cables, mechanical handling equipment,
signal paths, in board electronics interfacing equipment; ancillary
hardware, software, and firmware; and related test equipment. NAVSEA
encourages potential sources to visit its home page on the World Wide
