Billy Oden -- (513) 366-2126 E-MAIL: U.S. EPA -- Cincinnati Contracts
Management Division, oden.billy@epamail.epa.gov. The USEPA intends to
negotiate on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 6.302, with
Spectra-Physics Lasers, Inc. for the acquisition of an installed
Tunable Mode-Locked Pulse Laser System. The system shall consist of two
major components, a diode pumped continuous wave 532 nm source laser
which serves as a pumping source for a tunable Ti:sapphire pulse laser.
The source laser output shall be at least 10W at 532 nm or be
sufficient to pump the Ti:sapphire laser to produce femto-second pulses
with minimum output of 200 mW from 690 to 1080 nm. The Ti:sapphire
laser, which will be coupled to a multi-photon excitation confocal
microscope, shall be capable or producing laser pulses with less than
80 femto-second pulse width and be tunable for output wavelengths from
690 to 1080 nm. The system shall be capable of operating on 110/220 V,
20 amp electrical service. The system shall include a two year warranty
and shall be delivered and installed within 10 weeks following receipt
of order. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. Sources wishing to be
considered must submit documentation to the office identified above,
which establishes the ability to furnish turnkey, tunable mode-locked
pulse laser systems, with features as described above. Documentation
