United Space Alliance, LLC (USA), a NASA prime contractor at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), FL, seeks sources capable of fabricating, testing and delivering one large hydraulic cylinder for use on NASA s Crawler-Transporter. The formal solicitation will contain complete details, however, general information on the cylinder is: a 20-inch diameter rod, 21-1/2 inch diameter bore, 6 foot 7 inch stroke, 11 foot retracted length, linear single action (rod down), 3,000 psi nominal operating pressure, 5,200 psig under emergency conditions. Barrel and rod material to be ASTM A106 Grade C Seamless. Welding per ANSI/AWS D1.1 or ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Painting per KSC-STD-C-0001 and Cleaning per KSC-C-123 or demonstrated commercial equivalent for critical equipment.
