39 -- REPLACEMENT OF THE CONTROLLER ELECTRONICS OF EXISTING MINILOAD SYSTEM SOL DAAC71-98-R-0002 DUE 123097 POC Contract Negotiator, Marilyn Watkins, (717) 895-7918; Contracting Officer, Joyce Bednar (717) 895-6369 Tobyhanna Army Depot intends to negotiate on a competitive basis for award of a firm-fixed price contract for replacement of the controller electronics of the existing Government-owned Conveyor Real Time Control (CRTC) System resident and currently in operation in the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) at Tobyhanna Army Depot, Tobyhanna, PA 18466. Three obsolete E61000 control devices used to control the conveyor system which services the Mini-Load System will be replaced on-site at Tobyhanna Army Depot with state-of-the-art, industry standard Progammable Logic Controlllers (PLCs). In addition, the existing Digital Equipment Corporation PDP11/73 computer and Conveyor Real Time Controller software will also be replaced with state- of-the-art replacements. Offerors are notified that modification of the proprietary Eaton-Kenway (currently HK Systems) manager software to enable the ASRS main computer control system to recognize and interact with the new PLC controllers and the PDP11/73 is prohibited -- Estimated issue/close dates 03 Dec/30 Dec 97 -- DAAC71-98-R-0002 applies.
