Leithead,703/306-1242 The National Science Foundation (NSF) is
soliciting proposals to provide processing and evaluation services for
its Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). The Graduate Research
Fellowship Program (GRFP) is comprised of the Graduate Fellowships (GF)
competition and the Minority Graduate Fellowships (MGF) competition,
each with additional awards for Women in Engineering (WENG) and Women
in Computer and Information Science (WICS). The application processing
services that are encompassed by this requirement include developing
and printing materials; assembling the application materials;
distributing publicity materials; communicating with potential
applicants; and receiving, screening, checking, and readying the
applications. The services related to application evaluation include
obtaining commitments from expert scientists and engineers willing to
serve on panels for the evaluation of applications; making arrangements
with hotel staff for lodging, meeting, and function rooms; providing
staff and computer support for the process of application reviews;
arranging and conducting review panel meetings, including payment of
panelist expenses; and communicating the results to NSF; and completing
certain related and ancillary activities. Extensive computer-generated
reports and electronic files (mostly rosters and tabulations) are
supplied to NSF for use in selecting awardees and in assisting with
NSF's post-award administration of the Fellowships. NSF anticipates
awarding a two or three year base contract with options to extend the
contract up to five years. It is anticipated that the solicitation will
be available on or about November 28, 1997, at the following Website:
