Dickey, (605)353-9215 The Western Area Power Administration has a requirement for a contractor to provide all the labor, materials, equipment, and other resources necessary to complete this project. The work includes removing concrete foundations, steel structures, electrical equipment, ground mat, and all buried cable; stripping; excavation for substation site and access road, excavation from borrow, excavation for foundations and trenches, constructing embankments, backfill,and gravefill; corrugated metal pipe; chain link fence, barbed wire fence, gravel surfacing, riprap, soil-applied herbicide, and seeding; foundations for steel structures, electrical equipment, and service building; cable trench; galvanized welded steel structures; installing Government-furnished power circuit breaker, circuit switchers, coupling capacitor voltage transformers, and shunt capacitor banks; removing and reinstalling power transformers, power circuit breakers, circuit switcher, and voltage transformers; furnishing and installing disconnecting switches and combination fuse disconnecting switch/disconnecting switch with interrupter, current transformers, distribution transformer, grounding system, conduit, insulated conductors and cables, bus systems, and substation signs. This project is located in Tripp County, South Dakota. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be available in hard copy only. All work must be completed within 270 calendar days after the receipt of a "Notice to Proceed". This solicitation will be issued on or about December 10, 1997. The projected bid opening date is on or about January 13, 1998. This proposed procurement is unrestricted (full and open).
