This includes addition of a 2 story (1300 sf) lobby and passageway area; demolition of non-structural partition walls, ceilings and 400 volt special electrical distribution systems; reconfigure and upgrade existing HVAC and fire protection systems; retrofit two elevators; renovate restrooms; install new energy saving lighting/occupancy sensor/EMS, and electrical distribution system, floor coverings; windows; some architectural finishes; modify existing perimeter fencing, external lighting; warehouse building, parking lot and front area. Estimated cost is between S5,000,000 and S10,000,000. Award will be made to the Offeror (1) whose proposal is technically acceptable and (2) whose technical/cost relationship is most advantageous to the Government. While cost is secondary to technical it will be a factor in the award decision. Proposals will be evaluated on the following: (1) past performance and experience of the Contractor; (2) project co-ordination and approach to this project; (3) past performance and experience of the sub-contractors; and (4) schedule. Solictation package will be available on or about 12/04/97. A non-refundable fee of S150 will be charged for the plans and specifications. Checks to be made out to USDA Forest Service (RFP R5-98-01). Plans and specs requests will not be processed until your check has been received by this office. A Pre-Proposal Project Walk-thru at Mare Island is scheduled for January 6, 1998.
