The Ports and Waterways Safety System (PAWSS) Request For Proposal (RFP) may be obtained on Friday, November 14, 1997, by visiting the PAWSS WEB site at: http://www.dot.gov/dotinfo/uscg/hq/g-a/pawss/home.htm. The PAWSS RFP seeks a Contractor who will install, test, support, train, and maintain the Vessel Traffic Service System(s) in ports and waterways of the United States. The system acquired will be based on open systems architecture maximizing the use of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf technology. An indefinite delivery indefinite quantity, fixed price, task order based contract is anticipated. The term of the contract is planned for a base period, and additional option periods to reach a total contract period of seven years. A virtual reading library is available at the PAWSS WEB site.
