Contracting Officedr The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has a
requirement for research and development in the deverse area of
Bio/Molecular Science and Engineering. Both on-site and off-site
support is required to address several research tasks, which consist of
: (1) Fabrication and design of optical and electrode-based biosensors,
2) Research membrane biophysical chemistry and self-assembly of
microstructures for advanced materials, 3) Study methods of dry state
preservation of blood cellar components to include in vitro testing,
and new material and methods to accelerate the healing of soft and hard
tissue injury including in vitro testing, 4) Design microwave devices,
ultramicroelectrodes and electron emitters based on metallized
composites and patterned assembly for advanced materials using liquid
crystals and colloids, 5) Explore selective patterning and application
of biological materials (proteins, cells) on solid substrates, 6)
Synthesis and characterization of liquid crystal materials, 7)
Investigate processes for lithography and patterning for high
resolution imaging, 8) Use genetic engineering to research
biomaterials, 9) Synthesis and development of novel materials for
separation, and 10) Perform literature searches, organize and execute
technical review programs, create graphics, etc. for publishing. An
Indefinite Delivery- Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type of contract is
anticipated. The estimated minimum level of effort is 1,423 labor hours
and the maximum level of effort is 253,500 labor hours at this time,
but, is subject to be revised at the time of solicitation issuance. The
statement of work, labor categories, and personnel qualifications will
be included in the solicitation package. The period in which task
orders may be written is 60 months. Numbered Note 26 applies. Request
