ibwc09@whc.net. The International Boundary and Water Commission, United
States Section, requires the furnishing of labor, materials, and
equipment for the construction of the Valley Gate Ramp of Reach B of
the Rio Grande American Canal Extension (RGACE) project located within
the City of El Paso, Texas. The construction of the ramp is located
adjacent to the Rio Grande on U.S. Government property on the landside
of the Rio Grande American Canal Extension Project. Major contract
components include: Import of approximately 2252 cubic yards of earth
material to be compacted and finished to the desired grade;
installation of approximately 240 linear feet of reinforced concrete
pipe; construction of approximately 500 linear feet of concrete
cantilevered retaining wall; placement of approximately 300 cubic yards
of concrete slab; installation of approximately 74 cubic yards of
riprap; installation of approximately 500 linear feet of guardrail; and
seeding of areas disturbed by construction. The estimated range of
construction is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Tentative dates
for issuing and opening IFB 98-03, are December 8, 1997 and January 8,
1998, respectively. Contract performance period is scheduled at 120
calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. Plans will be
available for inspection at the International Boundary and Water
Commission, U.S. Section, 4171 North Mesa Street, Building C, Suite
224, El Paso, Texas 79902-1441. Copies of the bid packages are
available for a $45.00 nonrefundable charge payable to the "IBWC/U.S.
Section." All requests for bid documents must be in writing, no
telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. Requests for the bid
documents must be sent to the preceding address, ATTN: Mary Nichols.
Requests must include business name, point of contact, address,
telephone number (include area code), and IFB number. A pre-bid
conference and site visit will be held. Attendance is highly
recommended. All responsible sources, if timely received, may submit an
