Z -- DESIGN BUILD FOR ELEVATOR CONTRUCTION, POCH, PITTSBURGH, PA SOL GS-03P-98-CDC-0008 DUE 010698 POC Celeste Wells Dow, Contracting Officer, 215-656-6097; Donna England, Procurement Assistant, 215-656-6108 Furnish and perform design, all material and work required for the removal of specific existing elevator equipment and installation of new equipment for the purpose of modernization of four (4) passenger elevators (1-4) at the Post Office and Courthouse in Pittsburgh, PA with a series of options to: Option I: Modernize six (6) passenger elevators (7-12); Option II: For elevators 1 through 4 hoistway entrances, provide new door panels, hanger tracks, hanger rollers and interlocks all floors. Hoistway door panels for main lobby shall remain; Option III: For elevators 7 through 12 hoistway entrances, provide new door panels, hanger tracks, hanger rollers and interlocks all floors. Hoistway door panels for main lobby shall remain; Options IV & V: Refurbish passenger elevators 1 through 4 and 7 through 12, respectively; Options VI & VII: Cleaning and restoration of main floor lobby elevator hoistway entrance. For elevator nos. 1-4 and 7-12, respectively, Options VIII and IX refurbish and reuse existing car and counterweight safeties, governors and governor ropes for elevator nos. 1-4 and 7-12 respectively. As part of the project, air conditioning for the new SCR drives and related appurtenances in the elevator machine room will be required. Modernization of the equipment shall include upgrading the elevators to comply with the latest Fire Safety and Handicap Accessibility Standards. This RFP also requires a "Maintenance Contract" of all building elevators for a base maintenance period and three (3), three (3)-year options. The design build contractor is responsible for providing and including all necessary architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire safety, security, communications, and computer systems as identified or required to be installed or relocated so as to deliver a fully functional product. All source selection criteria shall be made available in the solicitation package. The estimated cost of the base bid of this proposed procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
