Maintain/Repair/Upgrade Fire Station, HTUX 95-0005 A/B/C at the 440th
Airlift Wing, General Mitchell International Airport, 300 East College
Avenue, Milwaukee WI 53207-6200. Work on Maintain Fire Station
consists of painting miscellaneous existing interior walls and
ceilings, and the installation of vinyl wall covering on office area
walls. Work for Repair Fire station consists of removing and replacing
the existing environmental control system, the removal and replacement
of all exterior roof up doors, the existing roof, carpet and
miscellaneous light fixtures. Also, all acoustical ceiling tile is to
be replaced; the existing bunk room area is to be totally renovated;
and the electrical overhead power drop is to be place with underground.
Plus new signage, fire alarm devices, exterior sidewalks, and a singly
ply membrane roof with new gutter and flashing are to be replaced or
installed. Work on Upgrade Fire Station consists of the installation of
a sauna, and the construction of exercise and communications room
additions. New power metering equipment is also to be installed. This
part of the project is subject to statutory limitations of $500,000.
Project will be bid as three separate line items and awarded as one
complete project. Estimated construction magnitude is $500,000 to
$1,000,000. Performance time will be 150 calendar days after receipt of
Notice to Proceed. IFB will be issued on or about 01 Dec 97. This
procurement is being solicited as unrestricted in accordance with the
Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The standard
Industrial Code (SIC) for this project is 1542. The related small
business standard applicable to this construction project is $17
million average annual receipts from the preceeding three years. Bid
packages will be available to PRIME contractors only on a first come
first serve basis. Local contractors must pick up bid packages at the
Operational Contracting Office, Bldg 102, Rm 102, 300 East College
Avenue, Milwaukee WI 53207 during the hours of 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM. One
bid package per prime contractor. When requesting a bid package
