Rowland, 315-476-7461, ext. 3599 Readjustment Counseling Services to eligible veterans referred by the VA in Syracuse, New York. Readjustment counseling for purposes of this contract is counseling provided by Social workers, Psychologists, Psychiatrists or other counselors, individually or in concert to amelirorate Social, Psychological or behavioral impairment which interferes with individual Vietnam era veteran's relationships or overall ability to cope with problems encountered in daily life. Readjustment counseling services constitute social and psychological counseling to include individual, group or family counseling, job and career counseling (other than job training, skills developement and placement services), and substance abuse counseling. While the provision of medications and physical examinations are not to be considered a component of readjusment counseling services and will not be provided under this contract mechanism, offerors will be expected to have the capability directly or through arrangements to provide physicial assessments, medical treatment and therapy. Five separate RFP's will be issued for contracts to be awarded providing service over the following geographic areas (1) Oneida and Herkimer (2) Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence (3) Seneca and Tompkins (4) Oswego, Madison, Cayuga and Cortland Counties. RFPs are expected to be issued on November 25, 1997 for service to be provided during calendar year 1998 with the option for two (2) additional years. Concerns having the capability of meeting the needs identified herein are requested to submit their request in writing to receive the RFP specifically identifying the geographic area for which they can provide service.
