BEING RESUBMITTED DUE TO AN ERROR IN TRANSMITTING TO THE CBD. IN ORDER
TO TRANSMIT TO THE CBD -- SYMBOLS IN THE PREVIOUS
SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO WORDS AND FRACTIONS HAVE
BEEN SPELLED OUT. IN ADDITION, IN ITEM NO. 1, WORDING HAS BEEN CHANGED
TO REQUEST A LEXAN GRILL "OR AN APPROVED EQUAL". This notice is a
combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. This notice is being issued as
a Request for Offers (RFO) for the following: Access Floor System -- 24
inches x 24 inches bolted stringer, carpet tiles, and non-rocking floor
tiles. The floor system shall be laterally stable in all directions
with or without floor tiles installed. The electrical resistance
between an individual stringer and pedestal shall be less than 1,000
microhms. The range of electrical resistance of the floor covering to
the ground shall be 0.5 to 20,000 megohms for humidity from 40 to 60
percent relative humidity. The floor-panel joint-width tolerances shall
be 0.008 inch as measured with a feeler gage at any point in the joint.
The floor tiles shall be removable with a floor puller and shall not be
mechanically fastened to the stringers. The floor is for a room that is
approximately 44 feet x 62 feet in dimensions with 2,728 square feet
and is 18 inches above the sub-floor. The items identified below shall
be provided. ITEM NO. 1 -- Floor Tile -- 24 inches square, 2 inches
maximum depth, welded steel panel filled with cementitious core
material, steel top sheet, painted finish over steel, class A flame
spread rating, monolithic carpet. Minimum load rating 250 PSF
uniform/1,000 lb. concentrated, safety factor of 3. Carpet covering
shall be United Technical Products, Inc./Computile RTG/Compucarpet RTG
factory applied Compucarpet with glue -- Multi-color loop/Carpet Color
-- Moon-dance 6808, or an approved equal in color, weight, static
resistance and flame spread. The floor panels shall match the drawing
provided as Drawing A at the following address:

floor cutouts shall be approximately four and three eighths inches in
diameter, sharp edges shall be protected with a non-conductive grommet,
and covered with a black flush removable cover capable of 1,000 lb.

capable of supporting 1,000 lb. Wheel load, non-conductive, one piece
molded construction, individual air flow damper adjustable from the
top. The above floor tile shall consist of: a) 2 feet x 2 feet solid
panel. Quantity: 600 each b) 2 feet x 2 feet panel with a four and
three eighths inches round cutout and black grommet cover. Quantity: 54
each c) 2 feet x 2 feet panel with black Lexan or an approved equal,
grill and damper. Quantity: 17 each d) 2 feet x 2 feet panel with black
Lexan or an approved equal, grill, damper, round cutout and black
grommet cover. Quantity: 36 each e) 2 feet x 2 feet panel with
rectangular cutout and grommet edges. Quantity: 10 each Cutout
Locations are shown in Drawing A. ITEM NO. 2 -- Pedestals -- Shall be
capable of supporting 8,000 pounds axially and 1,000 inch-pound
overturning moment. Pedestal heads shall be 8 gage; 2 inches total
adjustment using a vibration proof nut; tapped pedestal head for one
fourth inches -- 20 stringer fasteners; and 16 square inch galvanized
steel base. The above Pedestals shall consist of: a) Field Pedestals:
Shall have a 16 square inch galvanized steel base. Quantity: 750 each
b) Perimeter Pedestals: Shall be designed to abut against a wall.
Quantity: 120 each ITEM NO. 3 -- Stringers -- 24 inches x 24 inches
bolted stringer; galvanized steel; standard duty 250 pound mid-span
uniform load; 1,000 pound concentrated load; 600 pound rolling load;
and 150 pound impact load. A conductive vinyl rib or gasket shall be
cemented on the top of the stringer to complete an air seal between the
stringer and floor tile. The stringer-to-pedestal connection shall be
solid and not produce a metal-to-metal noise when a person walks on the
floor tile. The above Stringers are to consist of: a) Main stringers
shall be a minimum of 4 feet long. Quantity: 400 each b) Secondary
stringers shall be 2 feet long. Quantity: 800 each ITEM NO. 4 -- Bolts.
Two and one fourth inches -- 20 fasteners per stringer to attach to
pedestal head. Quantity: 1600 each ITEM NO. 5 -- Adhesive. Adhesive to
anchor 18 inches tall pedestal bases shall have the bonding strength
capable of resisting an overturning moment of 1,000 inch-pounds to a 16
square inch steel pedestal base mounted on a concrete base. Quantity:
2 gallons ITEM NO. 6 -- Floor Lifter. Provide the manufacture s
standard lifting device for a carpeted floor tile as described in Item
No. 1 above. Quantity: 4 each ITEM NO. 7 -- Receptacle. Double 120 VAC
duplex service outlet, mounted inside a recess box with a black hinge
lid. The hinge lid shall be flush with the carpeted floor tile as
identified in Item No. 1 above. The lid shall be capable of supporting
a 1,000 pound wheel load. For receptacle location see Drawing A.
Quantity: 3 each DELIVERY -- The above items are required to be
delivered FOB Destination to NASA, Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
Delivery of all items are required 6 weeks or sooner after contract
award. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA MidRange
Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement
Policy. The provisions and clauses in the RFO are those in effect
through the July 1997 FAR Reissue. The DPAS rating for this procurement
is DO-C-9. If the end product(s) offered is other than domestic end
product(s) as defined in the clause entitled "Buy American Act
Supplies," the Offeror shall so state and shall list the country of
origin. The SIC code and the small business size standard forthis
procurement are 3499 and 500 respectively. The Offeror shall state in
their offer their size status for this procurement. All responsible
business sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the
agency. Selection and award will be made on an aggregate basis to the
lowest priced, technically acceptable Offeror. Technical acceptability
will be determined by information submitted by the Offeror providing
a description in sufficient detail to show that the product offered

part of their offer. Offerors shall provide the information as required

52.219-9, 52.219-14, 52.225-9, 52.225-19, 52.225-21, 52.239-1, and
