The Pacific Northwest Division of Battelle Memorial Institute (battelle), which operated the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Pacific Northwest Laboratory (PNNL), is seeking Expressions of Interest for delivery of small-dimensioned screw-base Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) in support of DOE's Energy Star Partnerships. The CFLs are primarily intended for use in exterior and common-area fixtures. Battelle intends to issue an RFP for a two-phase program on behalf of its private multi-family building owner/operator partners. The purpose of the program is to speed the market introduction and increase commercial use of these CFLs. Phase 1 is a large-scale demonstration (approximately 5K to 15K lamps) of existing small-dimensioned screw-base CFL technology. Contingent on satisfaction with Phase 1 results, Phase 2 will request delivery of advanced CFLs to high volume clients (approximately 1M lamps). Battelle is actively seeking review and comment on the draft RFP for this program, which is available upon request. Comments on the draft RFP will be accepted prior to December 19, 1997.
