The project consists of furnishing manpower, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to performed the Design and Construction of an expansion to the Processing and Distribution Center, 500 Bill de France Blvd., Daytona Beach, Florida 32114-9997, in accordance with U S Postal Service conceptual plans and specifications. A fixed price contract for the Design/Build of the expansion of the existing Processing & Distribution Center (General Mail Facility), of approximately 29,931 gross s.f., on existing USPS property will be awarded. The building expansion is to be a one story (20' clear height to bottom of structure, building height may have to be transitioned at matchpoint), economical, typical general mail facility. Representative construction type to be: steel framed building with face brick over concrete block to match existing facade. Exterior wall construction and finish is to match existing. Project is to include dock addition/renovation, CCTV and universal wiring requirements. No fixed mechanization is included. Scope of work includes, but is not limited to, all trades typical to the complete construction of a project such as site work, off site work, landscape, foundation, concrete, steel, roofing, waterproofing, interior finishes, millwork, signage, doors & windows, storefronts, glazing, hardware, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, as described in the solicitation for proposals. There is some demolition work in the area of the proposed expansion, such as concrete, asphalt and other pavement demolition/revisions and other items, as shown on site plan. the existing postal operations must remain in operation during construction of this addition. See the site requirement section of the outline specifications. Phasing and enclosure partitions is required to maintain operations and safety of employee. Time of completion is 220 calendar days after notice to proceed, to include both design and construction. A management plan to identify on-site staffing and key personnel assigned to this project, with appropriate resumes and applicable SF-254 are required with this proposal. A project schedule is also required with this proposal. This scope of work is further defined in the plans and specifications. Construction cost is estimated to be between $2,900,000 to $3,200,000. Return date for the above project is December 23, 1997.
